Private House, Barnet

This project sought to replace an existing small detached property in Barnet with a new contemporary 4,200ft² private residence.

 

The form and massing of the design are a direct response to the neighbouring properties, whilst the facades provide a contemporary but contextual interpretation of the local traditional design language through form, materiality and detailing. The front, street facing, facade provides the feel of a classic double fronted house, whilst to the rear, full height glazing provides a more contemporary aesthetic. Internally, the ground floor has been designed to provide a collection of inter-connected rooms that flow into one another providing an open plan feel. The upper floors, benefit from a master suite, 4 en-suite rooms and a cinema.
